Rose Petal Dyed Altar Cloth 4
Rose Petal Dyed Altar Cloth 4
This one-of-a-kind altar cloth was created using botanical dye from roses as part of the process I use for making rosaries.
The altar cloths are lovingly made using a slow, intentional process. First, I choose the roses, or they are given to me out of love, and I set them in my altars and they become part of my sacred space. The white, pink, red and oranges roses for this altar cloth were infused with love from women’s circles I held in January and February 2025.
I go on pilgrimages to collect sacred well water - for this altar cloth, I used water from a waterfall in Cornwall (St Nectan’s Glen) and the White Springs at Glastonbury. I blend the rose petals with the well water, before purifying the pulp using gentle heat.
Once cooled, I drain the pulp of liquid multiple times and it is this gorgeous liquid that I used to hand dye the cloth. The multi-colours in this piece come from three different batches of dye. The altar cloth then is allowed to air dry to allow the colours to infuse into the fabric.
The altar cloth is infused with the energy of the divine feminine and makes a beautiful addition to your sacred space.
NB: Please do not get the altar cloth wet as this might impact the natural colour of the dye. Spot clean only.
