Sacred Kernow Circles

Welcome to Sacred Kernow Women’s Circles: Supporting Your Connection to Land, Lineage, Self and Community

You – all parts of you – are so very welcome here.

For the last 10 years, at the centre of my personal practice has been a deepening of my relationship with my Celtic lineage and the land here in the UK, especially the ancient Celtic lands of Kernow/Cornwall. In 2023, I designed a series of unique women's circles for anyone curious about deepening their own relationship to land, lineage, self and community.

The Sacred Kernow Circles weave together all my learning, experience and passions:

  • Exploration of my Irish Celtic Lineage

  • Honouring Cycles, Seasons and the Wheel of the Year

  • Cornish Celtic traditions, symbolism and spirituality

  • Land connection and stewardship

  • Women's Circle traditions

  • Social Justice, equity and inclusion

  • Embodied movement

  • Ritual, Rites of Passage and Ceremony

  • Story-telling and voice activation

  • Artistic, creative practices

  • Somatic, shamanic journeying

Why do Women’s Circles feel so important right now?

“Love and justice are not two. Without inner change, there can be no outer change. Without collective change, no change matters.”

Rev. angel Kyodo williams

Women gathering is, and always has been, a revolutionary act. Women’s Circles are intentional, powerful gatherings where we can build community, listen openly, use our voices, be heard and be seen. Circles are places where we dismantle hierarchy and competition and instead practice self-focus, community care and sacred activism. Through the medicine of circle, we come into deeper relationship with self, land and lineage and we dare to dream into being a new reality for ourselves, our communities and the world.

What makes Sacred Kernow Circles unique?

Many of us look outside of ourselves, our culture and our land for meaning and spiritual connection. The Sacred Kernow Land and Lineage Circles encourage the exploration of your own cultural, land and ancestral lineage. Each circle has a theme inspired by the land here in Cornwall - however, these are all archetypal concepts that stretch across cultures and geography.  Each offering is supported by a sacred site, an energy/deity and a plant spirit and invite you into your own embodied relationship with place, ancestry and culture.

My prayer is that Sacred Kernow Circles foster a deep sense of belonging in everyone who attends - a space where you never have to try to fit in, where you belong to yourself first, where you can speak your truth and tell your story, where you can embrace vulnerability as connection and never feel any pressure of expectation - only the invitation to come as you are and leave as more of who you are.

The circles are for all who feel the call to deepen your relationship of belonging to yourself, the land you live on, your lineage and this beautiful community.

For transparency, all circles will have the same format:

  • Introduction and Community Agreements

  • Calling in the Directions and Handcasting

  • Somatic Shamanic Meditation/Guided Journey/Imramma

  • Oracle Card Pull and Partner share

  • Deep dive into the theme

  • Community share

  • Activity to support the theme (ie Ceremony, Ritual or Rite of passage)

  • Soul moment

  • Close

Circle themes include:

  • Meeting Your Land held by the Spirit of Cornwall

  • Connecting to your lineage through ritual

  • Goddess Brigid and Receiving the Maiden Rites of Passage

  • Honouring Cycles with Goddess Domnu's support and Creating a Nature Offering Practice

  • Connecting with your Inner Child and Working with Fairy/Piskey Energy to Honour your Voice

  • Working with Hawthorn and Rose Plant Medicine through a Heart Opening Earth Offering and Tea Ceremony

  • Connecting with the Divine Feminine through a Water Ceremony supported by the energies of the Mermaids of Lyonesse

In person circles take place twice a month on Thursday evenings from 7.00-9.30pm at the Sacred Kernow Studio in Liskeard. In between circles, there is a community WhatsApp group and optional enrichment activities (spiritual homework) to deepen your relationship to each theme. To ensure these circles are offered with the highest levels of integrity, accessibility and meaning, each circle is limited to 15 women. Circles are £10 each to cover materials and everyone is welcome. Free community spaces are always available.

Here is what women have to say about attending Sacred Kernow Circles:

·     We create a sisterhood of people from different lines and lineages, different walks of life, ethnicities, religions. I feel we leave the world behind when in circle together. We take steps back into the old ways and practices to enhance our way forward. We pause time in circle. We are truly heard in circle.

·      I feel blessed to be part of this community. Meghan puts so much love, thought, care and energy into the planning of each circle and the space she holds. Beautiful!

·      The value of coming together in circle, sharing our voices and being held, knowing there is no way to get it wrong is very liberating for this former perfectionist!

·      I love each circle and they are a great anchor point for me. I love learning about myself more in terms of my lineage and connecting to a deeper wisdom inside me.

·      I love that there is no judgement and that we have space for all beliefs.

·      This is a very powerful experience for me. The reminder that there is no way to do it wrong is incredibly powerful. It is that freedom to be ourselves that is rarely found but so needed. Thank you once again for sharing your wisdom and magic.

·      I love this community that we have created and how it’s grown circle by circle.

·      I find the rituals very powerful as they enable me to draw together so many different aspects of my past. The meditation at the start of circles is an amazing portal for me that I feel facilitates me to go deeper during the rest of the evening.

·      Just beautiful.  I would never have done any of this work on my own and I feel it will enrich my life moving forward and it has facilitated healing I needed to do for both myself and my lineage.

·      I never want circle to end! This is a beautiful community, Meghan.
